Athletics Football Club were founded in 1904 by a group of local factory workers and have been at the heart of the community in Dunmore ever since.

The club's golden era came around the turn of the century: the first league title arrived in 1998/99, followed by the National Cup in 2004/05. Two more championships (2011/12 and 2019/20) and a second National Cup (2016/17) have since made Athletics one of the most successful sides in the league, and the Super Cup was added to the trophy cabinet in 2020.

Home matches are played at Dunmore Arena, a 32,500-seat stadium opened in 1999. The club's youth academy is one of the most productive in the country, and several of today's first-team players came through its ranks.

Under head coach Ben Shaw the club are chasing a fourth league title, backed by the record signing of striker Ruben de Boer.
